terry b
hi all thought i'd update you all on pups progress(well sort of)took some advice from a dog trainer and give him treats now and then which seems to work fine as he comes back alot more easily,he responds to the whistle couple of pips and he usually returns.retrieving not going too well as he seems to take things away and hide them while out in the field, but retrieves ok in the house.i'm not being to pushy with him at the moment as he's only 4months so i'm taking it nice and slow but still trying to maintain command,he seems a very happy fella and tends to look at me and trust me so i "think"we are doing ok ,as always i would really appreciate any comments and advice cheers terry b

magnetandsteel
I'm no expert Terry I got my first cocker he's 13 months now. Retrieving was a problem with me he just wasn't interested, bored of dummies and cold game. Been out twice this week him and shot first rabbit and snipe while out. Both times not clean the rabbit dived for cover in some scrub, sent the dog in and he came out no probs rabbit in mouth. The snipe again just winged it and it darted into the hedge, sent the dog in and like a star out he came snipe in mouth. Dead chuffed to say the least. Like I said mate I'm a novice but stick with it. Dai
