Risk assessment guide

RESULT... it looks complicated but it`s really easy.It is to top up your "GENERIC R.A." which should cover, for example, what drives you can shoot behind, where the beaters are coming from, where the pickers up are etc etc. This should be used for weather conditions,if they`ve ploughed or sub soiled a field,bull/horse/sheep in lower paddock ....... you see where I`m going.

Just fill in what the hazards might be,I put in snow and ice.

who`s at risk...all.

control measures...brief everyone to be aware.

Now comes the guess work,Severity ..... my estimate is you may bruise your self as you may not or you could break a limb so I took the "Median" and the code 3-Minor injury.Likelihood ..... unless you are a plank or lived in the Sahara until the shoot day you will have come across snow and ice at some stage in your life and know to take it easy.so I chose code-3.

Now place your finger on the coloured box at severity code-3 and another on likelihood-3slide them down and across and you get (surprise !) 9 ie.3x3 and as this is in the white area the risk is tolerable you need take no further action and just have to monitor the condition.

Hope this helps
