PIGEON PREFERENCES

Things is getting a bit stale. Time for a new topic.

This year, I have noticed that the pigeons in my area (Co Down, N Ireland) seem to have shown a preference for wheat fields. Even pigeons that were shot over barley stubble fields had wheat in their crops.

What about the rest of you guys, do you notice a similar trend ?

I'm from the Dromore area. Read your posts and I agree with you about the crow situation. Every time I have been out pigeon shooting I always set out some crow decoys along with the pigeon decoys. Other years you would always end up with a good bag of crows, but this year they ain't in the area or just won't decoy.

That said, I'm shooting in the afternoons/evening, not the best time for crow shooting. Must be getting lazy in my old age, can't seem to get up for first light to shoot crows.

I can think back to a time when I would have been standing at one of the local rubbish dumps at first light waiting on the crows to come in - ahhh happy days !
