I know this sounds a bit of an odd question, but how can one easily tell the difference between an older Remy 1100 Sporter, and a field/skeet etc? Also, if a fixed choke, will it have the choke stamped somewhere?

The Sporter did not come out until 1987 hence the 1187.

The skeet and trap versions had what they were stamped on the receiver, skeet had a fixed 26" barrel and the trap version had a higher and thicker stock with a 30" barrel.

The skeet version just had a plastic heel plate and the trap had a ventilated pad.

The field model had a plain receiver and could be had with various barrel lengths and chokes.

The tournament grades all had nice wood and I wish that I had never sold my Tournament grade trap gun.
