Sauer
Hi folks got myself an immaculate benelli M2, never had an inertia driven semi-auto before. question is..... i put the gun together and altho i followed instruction book etc etc ..... ive noticed that the ejection port doesnt fully close leaving maybe 4 or 5mm of a view of the rotating bolt..... is this normal ...safe to fire? might be a daft question but id rather be safe than sorry or bloody hospitalised, ive never had benelli afore so playing safe there are some photos on the net ive seen have the same so im assuming its normal cheers sauer

deadeye
if you remove the barrel on your benelli m2 you will notice at the chamber a slot for the rotating bolt to nest in when it is closed. on the benelli shotgun of this type the bolt does not lock in but rather it rotates into the slot chambering a shell into the chamber. just make sure that it rotates all the way into the slot and you have no problem. some users when in the field and trying to be quiet so as not to spook game might manually close the bolt and chamber a round and it is possible not to proper seat the shell and the rotating bolt into its slot and in such cases the gun many not fire. i am talking about riding the bolt home with your hand to prevent noise. just make sure that is is shut all the way. swift4me
It is really simple. Let the gun close itself when you push the bolt release button. If you're trying to be quiet, you can slide it forward to where it stops, (not fully closed and won't fire), then use the tip of your pinky and rotate the bolt.
