Markio
Well we weren't going to get another dog for a while (the last one gasped his last a little over a year ago) but it turns out there's no time like the present. I've been thinking for a while that i'd like a little black lab, as much as i love spaniels a lab is a winner as i think they are better suited to me. Obviously i want to train it up for work in the field (rough, hide and possibly beating/picking up). Any first hand recommendations for books to read to get me started? turbo33
John Halstead as above. ..Top marks. I used a video of his years ago and whilst he was using his labs I used it for training my springer. He turned out to be a top dog. He makes gundog training a a doddle. All that is required from us is patience. Good luck.
Mec 9000
Many good books on the go. Try Gundog sense and Sensibility by Wilson Stephens. Gerry
