Some silly people are so selfish. One large estate near here always starts a week or two after everyone else, hoping to have the pigeon driven into their woods. Most people want to start too early in the afternoon. A few shots and the pigeon are in the next parish, not to return that day. I reckon shooting should not start before 4pm on the first Saturday in February. By the end of the month it can be an hour later. That way, they fly a few hundred yards to the next wood where there should be another of your party waiting. The later its starts, the more they want to find somewhere PDQ. Now is a good time to go most of the shoots (Big & Small) are now finnished so you may find there wiill be more people out roosting, this will keep the little ******* moving around.
