Last night what a cracker of an evening, went up to Frampton and sat on the top pond, to our surprise there was no other guys shooting......

I set up 12 Mallard Decoys which consisted on 2 x Surface feeders, 2 x Bums up, 2 x Sleepers and the rest just the norm position.

Got myself settled down in between some excellent cover and i even took my little chair so i was not sitting in the normal dampness and we sat and waited for the Moon to show it self.

What a lovely sight watching the Full Moon slowly rise and it lit the whole of the top pond up.

We had Wigeons, mallards, Teal and even PinTail flying around us, even late in the evening we could hear the Greylags in the distance but had no chance of actually seeing them.

Under the moon came about 4 Wigeons flying towards me and turning to my left, up went the gun and i bagged my first Wigeon of the evening.

Later on again another 3 Wigeon came straight over my head and again coming from under the Moon out to my left and i bagged my 2nd Wigeon of the evening.

The Wigeons were flying all over the pond and you could hear the Teal and Mallards flying past me, just couldnt see them

The whole Marsh was alive to the sound of Ducks and Geese, we must have packed up at around 9.30 pm and as i was walking out to collect the decoys the ice was cracking under our feet, think it was about Minus 3 .

I cant wait until next season to do this all over again
