rad334
On our little shoot we put small patches of cover. A chap we know comes with his tractor and drills it for free for a couple of days shooting, but there's one patch between two fences thats to steep to drill. Its only a strip about 4 yrds wide and maybe 60 yrds long at the most. We think the natural scrub cover behind this strip would hold more birds if we could plant this with something. But what? is there anything we could plant by hand? One of the others suggested a rotervator and hand planting, would this work? It could do with being something that grows around 4 ft high. Has anybody got any ideas?

bothbarrels
hace you tried maize? (corn on the cob) it can be planted by hand, and grows to over 6 feet plus, and the main stem and leaves hang around till well late in the year.
