Alpha Mule
I'm probably going to regret posting pics this early, but,,,,,, I'll get a hanging poo shot before I start sanding it down Edited September 22, 2010 by Alpha Mule
Alpha Mule
Decided to forego the hanging poo shot Green on: Edit: The colour of the gun in the pictures doesn't do it justice. Those yellow stencils will cover up the brown. The gun is currently hanging up again, all green. Now to get busy with some 'female' ones for the beige. Alpha Mule
Hmmm Mr Rocket, I have a question: What did you use to get rid of the glue? It's horrible! I notice that the black paint that went onto the gaffer tape has 'sparked' off all over the place when I removed the tape. Not a problem in itself, but it has stuck to the glue that has been left behind after removal of the stencils. I hope you can see what I mean in the following photos. If photobucket ever gets its act together Edited September 22, 2010 by Alpha Mule
Alpha Mule
Hopefully you can see the marks left by the stencil glue. I'm fure it will look better once it is cleaned up and the nose, mod and sights have been finished and re-attached
Alpha Mule
Well I managed to get it off (fnar, fnar)! Some pics for you: A weird thing I did notice was that once I've removed all the stencils and had been handling the rifle, I found that some of the black (from the 1st layer on) must have stuck to my thumb and then left a print on another bit of the stock. Anyway: I hope it helps me bag a few more bunnies.
Alpha Mule
Hmmm, 30 odd views since I posted the pictures and no comments. Now I can't decide whether this is because the job is so pants that folks don't want to read about me topping myself due to the bad reviews, or it's even better (yeah right!) than CarbonR's efforts, or it's just plain boring. Come on guys, opinions please (good or bad are both OK)!
Gobfish
I liked your paint scheme Alpha, needed more blobs on it for my taste but all the same an excellent job. I'm so inspired by this and other threads that I've started doing the stock on my remmy 700. It all started well and I was very very pleased, I'm now on the second coat of the third colour and all has started to take the slippery route to the re sanding department. I'll stick some pics up of the carnage if anybody fancies a good laugh at my expense. It's been a real learning curve and I'm glad I did it but I feel it's not gonna look how I'd originally hoped. sticker peeling day tomorrow but I fear the worst
