pob
Evening all. My SGC expires on 18/4 this year. I am under the Met Police area, central and East firearms branch. I'd appreciate guidance on a renewal. When should I send it in? Can I continue to shoot as usual? Will I have to return the original for a time? I am still hopeful of divine intervention and that I'll have a chance to apply for first FAC as a coterminous licence. For this reason I would like to leave it as late as possible. Any help would be appreciated.
Catamong
Hmmm, some odd questions here..?? "When should I send it in?" - As soon as possible after receiving your renewal notice, (of course). "Can I continue to shoot as normal?" - Of course you can - why ever not..?? "Will i have to return the original?" - Yes, follow the instructions on the renewal form, keep a photocopy before you send it back. Don't rely on "Divine Intervention" to help you in any way, ('cos it won't), and I can't see any benefit in leaving it as late as possible, you run the risk of not getting it renewed in time, and as you appear to be the worrying sort, I'd suggest you get it back to them in good time. You must remember that they're very efficient in prosecuting you for camera offences, everything else just takes a lot more time..!! Cat.
