Stealth Stalker
I,ve ordered a Aries MK390 Paladin night vision scope and would appreciate any advice anyone might have on how best to use it. Can you use them as a normal daytime scope, for e.g going out a couple of hours before it gets dark? What sort of battery life? 24joy
yes you can use before full darkness if you hae a pin hole in your front lens cover. You may find though, as with alot of nv scopes, range finding is bit of a problem. Your power in your batts is good as batts, how much you use your ir, even temp can play a part, but hours not mins. Take care not to let to much light into the front lens, or you get freckles on your image, or complete burn
Stealth Stalker
Thanks 24 Joy Must be careful, regarding letting light in!! Hows the best way to zero the scope? would that have to be done in the dark? Do you find a laser dot helps? Cheers SS
1 of 5
An underbarrel or similar mounted laser is ideal if swapping from day scope to night scope. Simply zero the laser to the day scopes zero and when it's time to swap pick a point at your zero distance and change units adjusting the chevron or x-hair to the laser dot. You will need an adjustable power soviet bazaar laser to do this as the NV will need virtually zero power in the laser to avoid burning the tube. This will also get around the huge NV problem of lack of depth causing rangfinding errors as the laser can be used as a rangefinder too.
