anser2
Just an idea for anyone having trouble decoying pigeons. Last year i was decoying geese on a grass meadow. We had a selection of shell goose decoys and Texas rags. All morning good flocks of pigeons kept trying to land in the decoys and talking to a few other goose shooters this is not an uncommon occourance. I am not suggesting anyone runs out and buys goose decoys , but if they can scrounge a dozen for a day try them out and see what happens. chrispti
Knowing my luck Id pull in a load of geese, would never happen during the season
M ROBSON
This happens all the time to us, especially on the stubbles in early season. We could shoot some great bags of pigeons over the winter while waiting for geese! Cheers, Mark.
anser2
I guess its the size that draws the pigeons so well. maybe there would be a case for magnum size pigeon decoys? I have had the same thing when decoying geese years ago on mudflats with duck. One day every duck we saw ( about 15 groups ) came into a stand of goose decoys.
