Help ageing a Franchi shotgun please?

Can any members assist me in ageing a shotgun? It's a Franchi Falconet (looks like a fancy 'f'). It's a fixed choke 28" 12g.

I know the model was first introduced in 1968 but I can't find any reference to the F model. It's very light.

I am trying to date a BSA at the moment from the proof marks, This may be your best bet IF it has italian proof the year should be straight forward

Yes it has an Italian proof stamp but I have no clue in establishing the date. It has AD in a little box, is that the date code I wonder?

EDIT: I reckon it's 1978.

It's in very good condition for the year, I wonder how much it's worth?

Thanks for the tip in the right direction HDAV.

Yes I did test it at the Woodspring Bay Shoot on Saturday. It's a lovely gun and shoots very well but it's so light and designed as a field/game gun my arm feels like it's going to fall off. It was a hard layout last week too! Not for beginners!!

I expect I will sell it in time, as it's in great condition.

Have you got a magnifying glass?

Have you got a magnifying glass?

I bought a cheap one for a £1 may need to get an expensive jewellers type 10X one and try that.

EDIT: went and got one from local jeweller a proper eye glass 3.5xmag, makes a really big difference to the date stamp now looks more like S 1 B which is 1967
