flytie
I popped into my local RFD on the way home and he tried to sell me a .270. If you do not mind their reputation and give one a try, you might find the .270 ideal. I think they are a bit barky and not too soft on the shoulder, but they do the business As for extraction, there is no easy answer unless you can acess a quad or something similar. There are parts of my permissions that I need help extracting fallow from, extracting lowland reds will not be the fun part of the job. ft
Harnser
Simple advice . Buy a .308 or .270 . Dont shoot a big red stag in the middle of a large piece of woodland if you carnt get to it with a 4x4 . If shot on open arable then you should be able to get to it with a 4x4 ,tractor or telly porter . AT the last resort field butcher it and take it out in pieces . Harnser .
