Hi all.

Have just purchased the above gun but its pushing a measly 8.5ft/pds. Has had new seals and a service recently. I know about the washer behind the hammer spring trick, but this hasnt helped much, even with 5 washers!. Most i can get is around 10ft/pds with washers. Is there anything else i can do? Ive scanned the web but to no avail and im pulling my hair out as im itching to use it on my shoot. Someone mentioned a grub screw on the s16, but i cant find it on my s16s. I could also do with a strip down guide of possible for future seal changes etc.

Thanx people

Bill

sounds very odd to me, mine was chrono'd at 11.7ftlbs standard? the guides on ebay just tell you about the washer trick, sorry i cant help more perhaps the original instruction manual will help you with strip down as it tells you how to remove barel for cleaning etc

I know it sounds very low. I expected around 11+. I do have the manual but its basic on what it tells you.

My son in law had the self same prob. Washer trick worked for him, although he recently GAVE the gun away. It sprung a leak from somewhere took it to the local gun shop who refused to touch it. Contacted webly who say they have no spare parts. Everyone we talked to had nothing but bad things to say about said gun. OK when the are working but get rid before they go wrong. Far to many seals and working parts and far to complex

Theres supposedly a grub screw somewhere near the hammer spring but i cant see it or is it only on the s16 not th s16s?

The grub screw dont do a great deal to power, ive tried and used crono on each turn of the grub screw, i only saw an increase of approx 1ft/lbs,

Ive been trying bump power up mine too, its shooting at about 12ft/lbs at mo but want to double it lol, ive enquired about getting a new barrel machined for it, adding an extra 6" to it and hopfully increasing power.

A quick update on my last post. The guy the gun was given to ( happens to be a friend of mine ) stripped it down almost completely. He called me up to go have a look at this thing all stripped down. We counted 13 O rings although there are 16 O rings in a replacement pack. He found the grub screw and gave it a couple of turns, put the thing back together again ( NOT AN EASY JOB ) and it gave him 14 ft/lbs up from just over 11 ft/lbs. I have heard that if you screw in to far it will drop the power, gotta be just right. Once he orders the new O rings we plan to make a DVD on the whole process and try to explain the complicated route the air takes to get from the bottle to the barrel.

Hi I'm a recent joiner of the forum - I was wondering if you ever got round to making the DVD.

I've found documents desribing what to do - but they really need pictures / diagrams to get it right.

I have the older verson of the S16. There is an allen screw that will adjust the power. Toy remove the scope rail, make a note of the position od the cocking bar below, remove it. The grub screw is buried deep inside forward of the pressure gauge. It's a ****** to get at but possible with out further stripping once you know where it is. It's an allen screw by the way.

PM me if your in the area and want a hand.
