scuta
Bought my HW100 (.22 Sporter) new, 5 months ago. It came with a certificate stating it was running at 11.4 ft/lbs. Having put about 1500 pellets through it, I thought I'd better get it chrono'd as I'd read the gun can creep up in power once it's 'run in' - don't know if it's true or not but thought I'd better check. Was disappointed to learn it was running at 9.85 ft/lbs (average) with H & N ftt's and 10.1 ft/lbs with JSB exacts - so much for a power creep! :o Anyone got any suggestions what would cause this? I'm not losing pressure. I'm planning to take the gun back and see if I can get the power improved. I'm assuming they will send it back to Hull. Do you think I'll be able to put in a request for 11.8 ft/lbs or get the anti tamper removed so I can set it myself? (I'm not interested in how to remove it myself or achieving FAC powers, just running the gun to its optimum) All thoughts welcomed.... tomhw100
hi mate-theres no way they will remove the anti tamper for you-not a chance! i had the original hw100t and now i have the hw100kt and i've had little leaks on them both but not a change in power. Theres a good chance they will send it back to hull or they could be able to do it in the shop-where did you buy it from?

I use them regularly, so I've got no fears regarding their service, they've always been as good as gold. It's just a pain having to send the gun away. Any suggestions what might cause the power to drop? Cheers

unclemicky
Who did the crono for you :o I did mine at 16 grains AA field , came out at 11.5 - 11.6 ft lb , if the crono is set at 15 grains :o it comes out at 10.1 average , so it might be worth re-checking the pellet weights , :o

We did our homework on the pellet weights, although I can't confirm exactly what he fed in to his little gizmo. We ran JSB's (9.85ft/lbs), H&N's (10.1ft/lbs), Bisley Mags (10.75ft/lbs) and FX's (10.6ft/lbs) all below what I expected the output to be.
