kip270
Don't get carried away with power. You only need 3ftlb of energy to kill a rabbit, this is the striking power and not the muzzle velocity. Why is it squirrels don't run when smacked in the head?? Rabbits must be of a more nervous diposition(big words for me), so when a well placed shot smacks them in the head they get up and run. I have been air-rifle shooting for twenty five years and have shot everything from a sparrow to a fox with a 12ftlb rifle. If you can shoot to your ability, you will kill them. I have shot rabbits at 60yards with my HW80, and the pellet has gone straight through the head. People under estimate the air-rifle, but a 12ftlb rifle will do the job. SNAKEBITE
I think the size of the squirrel head compared to a rabbits has something to do with it. With a tree rat there is less area so the pellet energy damages the WHOLE area rather that MOST of it with the rabbit. Hope you understand what I mean. But you are right KIP, a 12lber is upto the job if used right
