remmy1100
was in my local gunshop yesterday picking up some cartridges and was informed by the owner that trade prices are to rise by £18+vat per 1000 because of the weak pound, getting quite pricey already
Andy H
Yesterday at the gun shop i was shown a letter from Lyalvale/Express giving the excuse that due to the price of lead on the london metals market they are going slap another 10% on as of 2nd April . All of the excuses will be coming out now to justify another shafting of the shooting community. Edited April 4, 2010 by Andy H
HDAV
Hmm Lead prices have seen some recent fluctuations ! http://www.lme.com/lead_graphs.asp Assuming most manufacturers buy 3+ months in advance 2003 the price was around $500 USD per tonne its now $2000 a tonne huge jump in last few years which seems odd as i thought lead use was declining, perhaps old mines have dried up and new ones more expensive to operate? Peaked at almost $4000 a tonne in late 2007!
berettaman
The way its going i can see us all selling our non steel guns for scrap and upgrading to steel proofed guns, somebody somewhere is going to make a killing cos they will sell them abroad where lead isnt so dear, luckily i went down that road with my urika 2 so if needs be itll be closer shots with steel
The Reverend
I was told last week that there is now a "lead surcharge" of £2.50 on a 1000 too. This is starting to really **** me off now.

Andy H
If you go down the reloading route use Vectan it is nearly 1/2 the price of the others.
