MattShuff
Afternoon all, I have been meaning to contact someone about asking permission to shoot on a piece of land but am unsure if I need to contact the actual landowner, the person who is currently a tenant on the land, or both? Any advice would be much appreciated Matt

abiteachuck
I agree i have quite a bit of tenanted land and it depends on the tenancy agreement, if its long term letting. then you will find the tenant sorts the vermin out as it saves the owner the trouble but check 1st. covlocks
The tennant has to know and agree that its acceptable to him, but the permission must come from the land owner
Alanl50
In most cases the tenant has the right to control predation or his appointed agent in order to protect his crops legally, this "right" goes back a long time before the turn of the last century, and they are duty bound to control the rabbits, but the taking of game is a different matter.
