Mine was 22 days from sending it off to my visit, an then 18 days till my ticket was on the floor. Heard stories on here that folk have taken a week from start to finish an up to 9 months... infact there's a huge thread all about waiting times, (http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=66083)

regards to questions, can't really comment on what you will be asked as from what's I've learnt in the short time I've had mine is every police force has different requirments. However mine asked me:

any past experiance with shotgun/firearms?

What i planned on using it for?

What land I had aquired?

An then wanted to inspect my cabinet, you don't need one on ya visit but saves time as no need for the feo to come back again to inspect it...

3 weeks for home visit and 1 week and counting for certificate to arrive.

I emailed my local officer and asked if he received my application (2 weeks after posting) and if he requires any further assistance from me - had a call from him the next day to arrange home visit.

I bought a safe once a visit was arranged to save time on future visits.

Questions will vary, just be honest in your responses. You can search for typical Q&A online.

Good Luck

2 weeks from sending in application form to ticket on the doormat. No joke it was that fast, with Gwent Police. Some may have had their's faster. But what i have read on past threads, most are taking more then a few weeks to a few months getting their's. So i was very surprised at how quick their responce was and very happy to say the least. And it was about the same time for my FAC ticket to arrive from posting application form. Very efficient indeed.
