Ireland's Finest! Posted May 22, 2010 Report Share Posted May 22, 2010 Im just wondering has anyone any hints or expierence in catching greys in larsen traps? I bought a larsen trap off e bay I had it out in a field were I seen a few greys landing the week before and in eleven days I caught 8. I diddnt catch for three days afterwards so I moved it yday, checked it tis-morning and had one in it :o :o :o Look forward to your replys. Teal Posted June 14, 2010 Report Share Posted June 14, 2010 I've had some good success with the grey crows this year, keep at them. If you can overwinter a couple of crows to make it easier for you to get started next spring. There are a surprising number of black carrion crows and hybrids of the two in Northern Ireland, apparently they hybrids are less fertile, so I'm not sure how far they have spread (I do my trapping on the east coast).
