No requirement for a licence for blanks/pistol/launcher in Scotland/Eng/Wales.
spanielboy
you will need to fill in an application form for blanks and hand it to the police before they give you consent.
gluebeam
you will need to fill in an application form for blanks and hand it to the police before they give you consent. is the form different from the firearms certificate or is it just like applying for a variation? mayfly36
as above , your local supplier off the blanks or firearms dealer should have a permit form, get him to stamp his details on it and fill it in and send off. You will recieve it back within a week or so. TH epermit is for the blanks as its gunpowder, you dont need a permit for the launcher or pisitol. Pastiebap
If getting a blank firing pistol then check it before purchase. In Northern Ireland a blank fire pistol where the gasses exit via the end of the barrel must be held on an FAC, however if the gasses vent from the side or top of the chamber (basically not down the end of the barrel) then it is not classed as a "firearm" and does not have to be held on an FAC. The buying of blanks must be done via your local explosives officer. Get an explosives form from an RFD and complete it (nominating the RFD for purchase and specifying what you wish to acquire), hand it into your explosives officer and wait for the license to come back.
