  1. They dragged that one out. Good to hear you finally got sorted.
  2. Sig Mosquito is basically a scaled down P226. Only differences are size and calibre. And price lol. New Sig Mosquito brought in from dealer in Germany to NI is about 450-500 euro. P226 is about 1300 euro (all be it in 9mm).
  3. Give David Simpson MP a call, he's quite keen on helping shooters.
  4. To save money. We've got form for it. Finish one war/think that our big threat has been neutralised, then get caught out seriously under manned when the next conflict occurs.
  5. If you share a cabinet she'll be able to keep tabs on what you buy.
  6. I'm being brave and using roosters, hope I don't get dipped.
  7. Whilst we are part of the UK car rules here are different, we don't use insurance, Registration docs are carved into stone pillars and we fuel our vehicles with potatoes.
  8. Friend of mine is an RFD, he has got some of these in http://www.cci-ammunition.com/products/detail.aspx?use=1&loadNo=0038 Although I couldn't comment on the effectiveness of them he says plenty buy them for use around barns.
  9. Am I missing something? Do FEO's in mainland UK have the ability to unilaterally support/block applications before submission? The FEO should be asking any necessary questions, giving the land the once over and then reporting factually to Feb. Certainly the FEO is entitled to offer opinion to Feb, but this should be based on fact. Ultimately the decision whether to grant or not lies with the SFLM and should be done in line with legislation.
  10. It will happen again, somewhere on the world, with maybe a different people. And as always we will stand by and do nothing. We did nothing during the cultural revolution We did nothing to stop Pol Pot We did nothing in Rwanda We did nothing in the Balkans We're doing nothing about North Korea
  11. I bought her a Bosch a few years ago. Seems dead on, I always have clean clothes to wear.
  12. Pretty much what others have said, the fact that your FEO asked you to take it back and didn't turn up at your door with a squad of officers tells me that they know that you've acted in good faith and not realised the mistake. Your RFD however will have a few difficult questions to answer. 13. I have a diesel Suzuki, recentlt replaced my petrol Suzuki, can't complain about them. Never owned an Xtrail, but a few friends have, and don't have a bad word to say about them. Whatever you choose you'll get a good car, I would say best thing is to get behind the wheel of each and see how they feel.
  14. With Hitler to the west and Stalin to the east it wasn't a great time to be an Eastern European, 1928-1954 I.G. Dyadkin estimated that the USSR suffered 34 - 49 Million deaths directly linked to Stalin. For those who like to read, look out for the book Under Two Dictators, it's about a German Communist (Jew) who fled to Russia, ended up in the Gulags, then was sent back to Germany as part of Stalins "Gift" to Hitler, she then ended up in Concentration camps. Well worth a few pounds and made me think a bit. The Allies were happy enough to align with Stalin, and part of me wonders if he had threatened us first, would we have Allied ourselves to Nazi Germany? Churchill for one was a fan of neither yet took up with Stalin due to necessity. Anyway, that book can be found in Amazon for anyone interested.
  15. Everytime a firearm changes hands it's tested, my own handgun had been tested on numerous occasions. UK customs do actually tend to notice firearms parts coming through the post, they were caught out when the IRA were found to have been posting parts here from Florida. Whilst no system is foolproof it's a good thing to throw in the face of the antis.
  16. If a dealer or smith changes a barrel then FEB must be notified and they will request the gun for retesting. If someone gets around this then it will be picked up on if the firearm is resold, the previous owner will then face questions. Also it's not just the rifling marks on the bullet that are examined but also the extractor marks on the case and the firing pin mark on the primer. I was originally skeptical, but when shown cases of historical murders that were attributed to a certain tested firearn I can now see the logic.
  17. In Northern Ireland all handguns are ballistically tested on purchase and on change of ownership, a record is then kept of the results. This happens for all handguns, police included. They had looked at doing rifles in a similar fashion but due to volume it wasn't feasible.
  18. There's two strands really to your enquiry. Firstly your FEO, there are many FEO's who let their personal feelings influence them at work and also who think that they call the shots. None of this is applicable to them, they are the eyes and ears of FEB and are purely there to report back the facts to FEB (in regards to applications). Also they should be operating in an advisory capacity, they "should" know the law, and as public servants, and the public face of firearms, should be helping and advising the public factually, not deliberately placing obstacles in the way. Secondly the firearm itself, let FEB tell you why you can't have it and work from there. You need to display good reason, FEB then need to decide if they believe it is (or isn't) good reason in line with the legislation. If they tell you it's not then they have to tell you why they do not view that as good reason, however, you then have the right to make representations as to why they are wrong before they can move to refusal, and believe me, there are many that have won. The issue with many FEO's now is that they do the job as they are of a certain grade. Whenever I did FEO I applied for the job as it is something that I wanted to do (and still wish I did), however since then it is just another role for EO2 grades to fulfill, and (in NI anyway) there hasn't been any FEO courses ran for appointees in about 7 years, so every new FEO is essentially winging it.
  19. A few of the guys in work have bought Octavias recently, they highly recommend them, one in particular traded his 330D estate in for a VRS Tdi Estate.
  20. The Government are using this as an excuse to further impinge on the liberties of all citizens, if we've nothing to hide then it's not unreasonable to allow the state to place cameras in our homes to watch us, just in case, and sure if we're doing wrong we've nothing to hide. Successive governments have created these problems, they have allowed these hatemongers to spread their cancer throughout our society and have failed to act for fear of being called racist or phobic. This is a war and these people need eliminated, let not forget what happened in France wasn't isolated, 10 years ago 52 people were murdered on the streets of London, 2 years ago Lee Rigby was beheaded during the day on a London street. Whats been done? Nothing.
  21. Bass Pro is great, I also recommend the Walmart super centre on Turkey Lake road. We're going back in June and we can't wait.
  22. If you're looking for a hotel in Dublin to drop knickers then take her to the Westbury.
  23. It's only a shame we didn't get to sink the Veinticinco de Mayo too.
  24. Me and Everyone like me. I am the British taxpayer that ensures the lazy/workshy and feckless can sit on their *****, I am the British taxpayer that funds the NHS, the education system and everything else the government spends my money on. I am the British Citizen that tries to bring my child up to be an honest, hard working and law abiding member of society. I am the British Citizen that stays within the law and tries to assist the forces of law and order when necessary I am the British Citizen that only goes to the GP/Hospital when there is genuine need, prefering whenever possible to use over the counter medications. I am the British Citizen that looks out for his own elderly family members. I am the British Citizen making provision for his own retirement. These are a few of the reasons why I and the millions of other Britons like me should be the collective Briton of the year, without us the country would be on it's jacksy,
  25. Not surprised you liked the Glock the least. I absolutely detest them, only had one as it belonged to work. Nicest handgun I had was an older Smith and Wesson Semi Auto. CZ is a nice gun to shoot, as is the Beretta 92F. Personally I prefer metal framed pistol, not too keen on tupperware guns.
