Guest gloker
In the morning im off to help out a farmer whos peas are getting hammered. Ive done a recce and the flight lines are basically from one pea field (about 10 acres) crossing a road to another pea field about a mile away. The first pea field has a wood running down the left hand side that is obviously the 'roost' or resting wood as there are hundreds of the ******* in there. The first pea field being so near is getting the most damage and the farmer has put a couple of gas guns out that they are just ignoring! I have got a mate that can help if needs be but i dont want to rush it and spoil what could be a good days sport. What would you do first? Its a while since ive had the opportunity to get a big bag! motty
I would personally set up where you think you stand the best chance of killing them. Then watch how the birds react when you start shooting. If you need to move or re-think your strategy for another day, then so be it. Guest gloker
There has been much talk recently about shooting near roosts, resting woods messing with flight lines and such. Been out today for another quick recce. They are flitting between the two sets of pea fields and resting in the woods for definite. (loads again today)Im going to set up opposite the woods depending on wind and take it from there.
