JMW
Hi I was reading on the net somewhere and it stated that a shotgun in the UK must have an overall length of 42 inches, and barrel length of at least 24 inches. Is this right? as all the other info I can find from police websites etc just states that the barrels need to be at least 24 inches, which would mean that you could, in theory, put a pistol grip on your shotgun as long as the barrels were 24 inches long. Andy H
The only overall length for a shotgun stated in the firearms law is 40" including any folding stock in its collapsed state . And that is for pump action or semi auto only.
