Bedpan39
Thought some of you DIY enthusiasts might like a look at my effort on changing a "shell Decoy" into a flyer for a magnet. As I couldn't bear the thought of paying full price for commercial ones I made a couple fron 3 Shells and some Vinyl flooring with a couple of bits of dowel. The only adhesive that would stick the vinyl was Bostic soft plastic adhesive. Small panel pins to help hold the dowels between the two wing "skins" . Cheap grey and black and white primer was used , thought they might be too heavy but have worked fine up to now . To get a good paint jog download Woodie pics from google! First photo shows hole in tail to clip down the back end to the magnet. They tend to fly upside down otherwise PM for any more info Bedpan39 Edited July 25, 2010 by Bedpan39
sitsinhedges
I built a similar set up but have now gone on to clipping the wings off real pigeons that I shoot and fixing them on top of the decoy ones with elastic bands. Looks even more realistic that way
