lee-kinsman
Hey mate, I'd be ready to shoot whilst the harvest is taking place, whilst the combine is going round it keeps the birds circulating and if you have your decoys set in place they be persuaded to drop in close to you. It will be worth asking when he plans to rotavate the stubble coz the crows usually come in for that. All the best, Lee
rigwallet
if you are goin to walk behind the combined that is usually done to shoot rabbits and foxes but ive found the best time far the pigeons and crows  is a couple of days after the cut but sayin that a field that was cut last week was crawling with pigeons last nite best thing to do is study your perm and you will get better shooting next year
