bakerboy
Last week I shot a pigeon, it came down dead, only to land directly in a rabbit hole in the nettles , last night I shot another pigeon, this time is was a runner, where did it go? it ran into a large rabbit hole it took me about 10 minutes to coax it out. I have a witness to all of this just in case you think it is a wind up "batch" had joined for what was an enjoyable shoot, with a little laugh throughout the evening . UKPoacher
I've retrieved shot pheasants and squirrels from rabbit holes. It is a natural reaction for a wounded animal to seek sanctuary. Sometimes pheasants hide in rabbit holes to avoid beaters.

Batch
The slippery little dude did indeed make for the rabbit hole!! Cheers for the evening out again Terry, was a nice way to wind down from another day of hell at work Drop me a line about Sunday if you feel up to it after Sat night, although I am yet to secure a golden pass from she who must be obeyed, but I am working on it. We should hopefully be able to find a spot far enough away from the new arrivals so not to spook them too much
