Flanker
Have just watched an interesting DVD where the guy shoots over maze stubble, but decoys on a ploughed patch beside it as the birds "hop on and off" as they feed. Would be interested to know what others thoughts are as the season progresses and the rape and wheat/barley stubble is plouged and the maze is cut. Have a patch in mind where this will be the case on one of my permissions so some advice would be greatfully received.
motty
When the maize covers are cut ( usually at the start of feb) the pigeons should get on them. They may well be on there before the 'corn gets knocked down, though. Keep an eye out for pigeon activity at that time, and just set up in the normal way, either on or next to the strip.
