ab1964
Spent two days Deer Stalking last week. Sadly rain got the better of my stalk. The only deer spotted was a Roe Doe that almost came flying over my bonnet in the pre dawn hours as I headed to the forest. It was raining buckets while on the stalk. No doubt all the forest mammals were in the Pine-Cover Cafe. Anyway, with my T3 slung over my shoulder, I started down a small embankment - thinking to myself this a real proper place one can slip and fall. I best unload the rifle and take due care. No sooner did that thought enter my head, my feet came out form under me, and I fell backward - landing hard on my butt - with nothing breaking the fall except my rifle and scope. I and my rifle were a muddy mess. The damage came to two knicks on the scope and two knicks on the rifle (one on the barrel - one on the stock). Worse was the strong possibility the rifle & Scope were no longer zeroed. Well, long story short, after a good cleaning and inspection for other damage (there was none) a zeroing test shot was taken. The result showed my Tikka T3 Lite (.308) & MEOPTA ARTIMIS 2000 Scope kit was spot on. Within a fifty-P piece at 100yds. I'm very pleased with that - tough-kit. And in the future - I'll take more due care when on rough ground. Besides damage to my kit, and possoble loss of zero, things could of been much worse if the rifle would have discharded due to the fall. Becareful out there!!! stevethevanman
Definately, what my guns survive is amazing, sometimes a knock can make a big differance, or sometimes none at all. But definately, I would have expected something like that to really knock the zero out of it, luckily it didnt Steve
Mr_Logic
They're good, both rifle and scope. Tikka isn't going to discharge either unless the safety is actually duff - it locks into the bolt and firing pin.
