Gemini Posted January 21, 2006 Report Share Posted January 21, 2006 .729 is the nominal size for a 12 gauge, so .719 shows that the bores are 10 thou’ undersize. This means that any choke measurements taken using a brass choke guide will be wrong. The only way to check the choking is to measure the constriction at the muzzles. .709 will be Quarter .699 will be half .689 will be three quarters .679 will be full If those sizes are correct then these are very tight bores.
