Frank
Thats a nice selection. I use a Light Force hand held for spotting foxes and a Light Force scope mounted lamp for when im on my own. I find light force excellent, i put mine down to a tight beam, you can really see the fox as clear as day. Have only used the red filter once and it was on someone elses lamp with them. I found it hard to see the fox beyond 100yds, it worked sometimes on lamp shy foxes, but not allways. How do you find the red filter? johnskevena
Deben tracer max with a dimmer and a lightforce blitz with a built in dimmer. Also use a deben tracer gamekeeper light when going after foxes with the shotgun.Use all the filters for them at different stages and also use the infra red with the traxcer max The red filter is fine with a powerfull lamp like the blitz but not great with the deben lamp. Use a yellow filter for both lamps the most and find we are having the best results with this filter. Does not filter out have as much light as the red filter but still takes enough of the sting out of the naked beam for the foxes not to mind it too much. The infra red filter with the deben is proving to be a handy bit of kit for us as we are picking up the foxes who have been eduacated before by being missed. They dont have a clue we are there until the bullet hits them. Mmmmm, intersting, i must try out this red filter more often, as i know where their are a few lamp shy foxes that need dealing with. Cheers John. Have been using it the past 6 months and find it deadly on the lamp shy foxes

That i cant answer because i dont actually have a night vision scope. What i have is a gen 1 night vision monocular that fits as snug as a bug on to the back of my scope. So i have the scope zeroed in for 125 yds and attach the monucular to the back of the scope and i let the scope magnify the night vision monocular and attach the infra red filter to my tracer max and it works a treat.Shooting foxes between 75 and 100 yds with it.my scope is only a simmons 3-9x40 so anything outside a hundred yards we dont shoot as it gets kinda blurred. Picked up the night vision monocular for about 40 euro and ebay so it works out a lot cheaper than buying a proper night vision scope Edited January 23, 2006 by johnskevena
