snowz Posted October 5, 2010 Report Share Posted October 5, 2010 I have a Trooper SWB with no sun roof, i want to fit a roof opening to the rear of the roof so i can shoot out of it, would need to fit 2 people side by side though it ideally, i've looked at sun roof but the ones i've seen would be too small i also thought about boat hatches and caravan windows or similar. anyone got any ideas of what i can use as a opening, its my everyday vehicle so needs to be waterproof, looks dont matter too much tho cheers Richard Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Gunny Posted October 5, 2010 Report Share Posted October 5, 2010 A fabric sunroof would probably be the best as they can be quite large. Try Autoroofs UK Ltd. or webastoshowroom.com. I don't know what sort of money you want to spend but if new is too expensive then you could fit a "pre-owned". They sometimes come up on the bay but years ago I bought an complete car (an old Renault 6) just for the roof and took a jigsaw to my car. Worked a treat. You will probably need to carefully remove the roof strenghting bars and re-locate them in front and behind the hole but generally it is straight forward as long as you measure carefully and make sure you mark out before cutting, making sure what you have marked out is square.
