Depends what you want to do with it

.17 hmr sends a bullet at about 2500fps, a .17 rem sends it at about 4500.

 

Those figures are grossly simplified, but it will give you an idea.

 

VERY flat trajectory on the .17 rem. Costs for ammo might come into it, but you might want to reload anyway.
