Stuffed grouse

Hi all

I have been invited on a walked up grouse day and hopefully will have a chance at a grouse. It being (hopefully) my first grouse I would like to get it stuffed. What would be an average price to get one mounted? I think i can get a case myself so it would just be the bird and scenery.

Also would it be OK to freeze it until I'm ready to get it done?

Cheers

I've sent mine off to a taxidermist. I'll supply his name with his say so. He's going to charge £110, that is just mounted no case. I reckon i might have a go at making a case.

In terms of freezing it. He said to wrap it in a polythene bag/clingfilm and stick it in the freezer asap. This stops it drying out in the freezer. I then wrapped in loads of newspaper and bubble wrap and posted it to him. Not sure if you are allowed to post dead things but he got it fine. Hope this helps anyone who was in the same situation as me.
