BountyHunter
Hi All I haven't been around for a bit but no I'm back. I am looking out for a Springer to train up and one has come up local to me; the problem is she's 2 years old. Is that too mature to train as a gun dog? Thanks BH
soreshoulder
i think it maybe too late to it like a pristine gundog that you see in the trials, but if you want her to pick up shot game then i say you should try it you never know she could suprise you
garyb
Has she had any form of training up to now? Is she working or show bred? Could be fine, could also be a lost cause.... Can you wait for the "right" dog?
BountyHunter
I don't know a lot about her background; I'd need to find all that out. I can definately wait for the right dog as it would be folly to do otherwise. Thanks for the input.
rickyspringer
never give up on dogs, my close friend has an unspoilt spaniel as a pet when she was 7, he needed a dog to retrieve, she soon caught on and is doing well
