Hello all,

looking at changing from airgun to rim fire, probably .22LR and or .17HMR. I currently do not have a licence.

Thought I would get some experience before applying.

I have a club local to me that shoots indoors at 25m, does any one know of any other clubs locally that shoot outside at longer ranges? and also where they allow .17HMR?

I am in south Oxfordshire/Bucks border, willing to travel a reasonable distance. I have done a search but any recommendations will be greatly received.

Thank you, Nick.

Cheer's, Maidenhead is only 25 mins away, I will pop in or give them a ring.

Do you have to join a club to shoot at Bisley or are there times when you can just turn up and use the range.

Nick.

If you are a NRA member you can book a lane yourself.

There are Open days when anyone can shoot (supervised and usually pre-booked).

Failing that you will need to approach a club, and check out their guest/membership policy.

Have a word with the NRA or NSRA and they may be able to offer more help! http://www.nra.org.uk/

My club is fullbore and we seldom shoot less than 200 yards, but we do often let go with the rimfires, .22lr has it's moments at this distance and .17HMR and .22WMR are relatively competant, but the centrefires are better! :ernyha:
