Colster
http://www.basc.org.uk/en/media/pressrelea...F444CBCF3340EFC ....instead of banging on about a Deer that is "believed" to have been shot, then "it's all ok it was a hoax to protect it.... but we'll report that as well so it gets shot 'again' and we can be outraged all over again" Our British athlete's have to fund their own way to these events and rely on sponsorship to meet some of the costs. This means part of their efforts/time have to be spent on securing sponsorship rather than training. If the tabloid reading public even knew that Britain was quite so successful in these events maybe the sponsorship would come a bit easier. Frenchieboy
Unfortunately the success that our British Athletes (Who the press should be reporting on and supporting) are achieving and the problems they are experiencing will not sell as many papers as a Deer being (Legally) shot will. Sad but true - Doesn't it make you wonder what "GREAT" Britain and our "Gutter Press" is coming to? Egg
Please don't shoot me down here but the first paragraph kicks off with congratulations to England's shooters then goes on to list medal winners from almost every other part of the British Isles. I'm not going to get all Scot-Nat about it, the 2nd paragraph is balanced but it does look as though the BASC are singling out one particular part of the British Isles for plaudits and laurel wreaths. Rant over.
