aubs
Hi I've just been given a few guns by an old friend who is retiring from shooting. One is an old baikal in superb condition ,double trigger ,non ejector which comes up just right (can't wait to have a go ). Another is a .410 unnamed maker (he he can't wait to have a go ). The main reason for this post is the last gun is a W&J DAVIES SBS HAMMER gun . I've tried the internet and can't find anything on it .I'm almost sure it's worthless but if anyone knows anything about this gun or the maker I would like to tell the old guy about it as he also knows very little. ps he wasn't up for giving me the holland and holland he had on his ticket. Cheers  Aubs
Gemini
I’ve looked around and there are a dozen Davies’s recorded but no W&J Davies. There are a couple of Birmingham Davies’s who worked in the gun quarter though, and one of them was William and the other John. It could be that they were related and at one time they may have produced a gun under both names. It may have been a basic run-of-the-mill gun produced by the usual assortment of outworkers, and assembled by W&J, who then put their name on it G.M.
