  2. Thanks P (squigley thing can't find it on my computer)MX but i think your remedy is to remove a polished/laquared/.how do you spell lackered/ finish.... My stock is oil finished....Thanks for the quick reply... Would a normal degreaser do the job or does it have to be specific to wood .ie we use one at work to degrease the floors....I've seen some American videos on the procedure of stripping down the wood but they come out with a load of mumbo jumbo on chemicals and stuff.... Thanks Hornet you gave me a great idea. . . Thanks Aubs
  3. Hi I have a beretta with a walnut stock with an oil finish. The forend is darker than the stock and has a small crack in it so I'm going to repair it and re-finish it.What's the best method to remove the oil finish ,what's the best chemical to use to do this. Thanks for any help Aubs
  4. Hi ...sorry for the lack of info initially I was in a rush.....They were shot on rape stubble at the end of august ...I'd been to look at the fields earlier and they were still not cut but there pigeons every where...I was off on holiday and thought I'd miss out but seems no one went there and me and another member got our chance.. Arrived about Andy Murray time(10ish)(he he )and it did't look promising although I'd seen the birds a bit later the previous day so I wasn't too worried...Set the new lad up just off the flight line across one field and he was shooting before i got to my field... I got set up where I thought i should be then decided to move and he'd ten down before i'd even pulled the trigger... As soon as I'd set up the pigeons were in steady away all day...also had a low flying tornado straight over us both ...nearly needed a change of under pants at that point anyhow i'd 65 and a crow and my mate had 57 on only his second outing pigeon shooting...he shot really well ....i had a couple of doubles and missed an absolute sitter at a 1 2 3 but who cares we both had an ace day All those days out with just a few shots and a wasted tank of diesel ....forgotten...NPPC worth the money....You bet it is ...lol Cheers B) aubs

  10. Did you manage to pick them all with such a small flattened area .I try to go and pick shot birds every one or two down but still lose some. aubs
  11. I have two but don't always use them both. Some days they work some days they don't.They can have a negative effect as pigeons flap when they fly off as well as land so I bought a timer so the flapper doesn't continuously flap.Got mine from uk shoot wharehouse link above with a discount. Bought some dead bird cradles aswell and I have found on the few occassions I do go out these always work Bonny Dazzler you must be built like a shire horse to carry all that gear aswell as the batteries your a walking bomb
  12. nowt down that way but I'm sure there are other companies that do the same thing
  13. ey up feather most of the land is rape but I have shot on laid barley peas and beans on request from jon it just depends if you drop on when you book out ie if a farmer has phoned him then he'll send you there. Follow the link at the top of the page and if your interested give him a call, for around a hundred quid a year it's not bad value and it saves you the hassel of door knocking. I sometimes go out looking for birds then camp near a field so i can shoot early next morning , saves on diesel aswell Hope this is of help and good luck cheers  aubs
  14. you say u didn't get any help feather ....... in what way ? cheers  aubs
  15. Well done Gaz you post for advice and end up calling people names and being abusive. 11 posts and you managed to **** everyone off .If your not a member you shouldn't be going. If you haven't a shot gun ticket you shouldn't be going. Looks likes you just want to cause trouble to me For your information country boy is usually the first to post advice and help for anyone on this site and most if not all members are really helpful but with that attitude mate I think you'll be on your own. If you want advice try joining first as you seem to like shooting other wise you wouldn't be on here, then if you don't already have one get a shotgun certificate then you can go shooting on your own so as not relying on your friends and their permission. One final bit of advice non members on nppc land without permission are trespassing. cheers aubs
  16. Hi Been a member of BASC for a few years now and the membership is up for renewal . The main reason for my membership is the insurance. Just wondered what you folks did and what organisations offered the best. aubs
  17. Hi Tried this some time ago and it didn't work..... Was in a hide with a mate and we spoke about it after shooting a crow. The next one that came along we would give it a try. So I gets down behind the hide and my mate lofts the crow from behind my head. The next thing I gets a gret big bang at the back of my head and a quarter inch of crow beak for my pleasure.... never tried it again.. Cheers aubs
  18. Just bought a pair of these hyper flaps, awaiting delivery. I hope they are as good as you boys say they are. Cheers aubs Ps i had to pay for mine you jammy *******
