bay firearms
Before doing some work on my O/U I took the snap caps out, closed the gun, pulled trigger to fire pin's and then proceeded to take of the forend and barrels. I then noticed that both of the firing pins had not re-set (retracted back into the pin holes) when I pushed the leaver over to take the barrels of. Any ideas?? VicW
I think it is because you didn't open the gun with the forend fitted and hence the hammers/strikers didn't re-cock. Vic.
bay firearms
That's a good point, I was under the impression that pushing the leaver over is what retracts the pins, but you might be right. Will try when I put the gun back together after I've finished the work I'm doing on it.
VicW
Not knowing what work you are doing to the gun or what gun it is,if the pins are still proud when you come to close the gun be careful you don't catch the bottom pin on the breech end of the barrels as you close it.
