I've had a couple of savages, nicely built, look nice and the trigger on the newer ones are fantastic.

I had a thumbhole btvs and it just didn't suit me, couldn't shoulder it right, but that was me.

Magazine release is awkward and didn't cycle as well as the cz.

All in all I'd have another, no real issues.

cheers everyone i am going to have a look at some in jj mcavoys next week an i think its going to be a toss up between this an the new cz 452 T/H!!

just wanted some opinions off of people who own/owned them!

atb steve

Ah my fav gunsmith and where I bought my Savage. As at yesterday they had the CZ in as well so you can do a good comparison!

If you dont already have a good relationship with them drop my name into the deal and you should be good for a little off the price! Done this a few times recently and they seem happy to look after people Ive referred!

I have the same as kyska above.

Great rifle - only groan is the mag release, but overall deadly accurate and a pleasure to own and very pretty IMO

i have a .22lr mk11 savage synthetic stock -modified as it had open sights -i ground them of as the rear sight stoped a scope being mounted ,so i ground the front of too ,got it completly flat then re blued it all -nice and light to carry ideal for hunting -mag is a bit awquard to remove but practice makes perfect - bit tricky relaxing the bolt when not in use to save the bolt spring ! watch your fingers or it will bite you -trust me -oooouch ! :o
