poontang
Terry dont worry mate I regularly shoot birds at that distant flying the ones who are having a pop at you have not got the skill to take birds at that distant ,so either doudt it can be done and also think its cruel to shoot at a woodie at that distance. Well I'll take that with a pinch of salt seeing as it comes from someone who slings 150 pigeons in the back of his truck and claims there are over 500 in there

poontang
Its like being back at school Yep, and maybe you should have paid more attention in maths I would point out that the OP stated that he took the shot because he was bored and there was nothing about. Not exactly the brightest thing to post considering there are a lot of people new to the sport reading these forums trying to pick up tips and information. What do you think they'll have learnt from that post?

Not exactly the brightest thing to post considering there are a lot of people new to the sport reading these forums trying to pick up tips and information. What do you think they'll have learnt from that post? I dont think most new shooters would know the diffrents between a woodie at 70 yards and 35 yards . Are you saying that its impossable to cleanly kill a woodie at 70 yards regular. If so tell me why on this very forum Digweed is smashing clays at 110 yards a whole 40 yards on top . I agree its not the ideal range to take them at and also not best to have willy nilly pot shots . I agree with your concern over the right image to outside forces but lets be clear having a target closer eg 25/35 yards does not for some improve the chances of a clean kill. bakerboy
Lesson learnt on perhaps an ill advised Posting. But lets not get into another argument, (as we often do on here) and show an even worse side to the new, old and casual viewers, that we cannot get on together. 1st and last of my boastful postings, I will also stop watching the Video of X amount,(I won't mention the number) of birds shot on 1 day by 1 person, with others trying to better it. So lets get some balance. bakerboy
