southdowns_stalking
Had a few hours to spare this afternoon so took a walk round one on my permissions that is just up the road. The fog was a lot thicker there than at home, a few pigeons took off from a hedgerow as i arrived. With still snow on the ground you could see tracks everywhere. The rape was still safe under the snow so knew that the pigeons would not be on it for a few more days yet. Spotted a trio of roe crossing through a gap in the hedgerow about 200 yards ahead and managed to stalk to about 75 yards before they moved off into the next field. Couple of pigeons broke cover from a old Oak and i had a shot at one but it gave me the one feathered salute and carried on its way. Nice to get out for a few hours anyway, here is the view down one of the hedgerows. Better Luck tomorrow
