Edward
Very good, very simple and if maintained right should last for ever. it might not be getting a spark so a new cdi which are about £80 or could be lacking in compression parts for that would be £40. I would say go for it
kev 1
The owner said it was sparking, but it seems a gamble, but as said if that simple cant be much to go wrong...
Edward
I just had a look in my haynes manual for my 400 they are very similar in the motor department. it says possible things are: no fuel flow, engine flooded, no spark, low compression. those are apparently the only reasons why they wont start
kev 1
Thanks Edward, Nice of you to take the time to look up the problem too... Cheers
webber
£800 for a none runner seems steep to me. It may be a simple low cost fix, it may not. Also I note thay its the 2 wheel drive version, are you sure that it will meet your requirements? webber

Cookiemonsterandmerlin.
The bloke told us his mate had 4wd quad and this one would get into more placeshis mates did, and said the 4wd ones eat the front tyres.. How much are the tyres ? The bloke talking $$$$ Get a selectable 4WD the biggest downfall of quads which is also there biggest upside is there light . So if you only got 2WD one as soon as you got traction problems the 2 wheels spin like a goodin. Your going nowhere fast . Yes quads do chew up tyres but how many of us do mega miles on there quads . crosshair
Had quite a few over the years, and got a few now, allways had 4x4 for the mountain work. The only problem I've seen is the frame rusting, and quite bad on some, when the frame's gone it's finished.
kev 1
He had painted all the frame ect... so closer inspection is a must then thanks for the heads up Crosshair Edited December 12, 2010 by kev
crosshair
Kev1, And if buying go for the well known makes, Honda, Kawasaki Suzuki etc, some of the cheaper chinese quads are throw away and a waste of money. Maybe the paint was hiding something that you was not supposed to see.
