caplock
Hi all Any HMR shooters out there using the heavier bullet through their rifle? If so how does it compare to the hornady tipped? Any pros or cons? I'm using the tipped stuff to great effect through a cz varmint and it is very effective on crows and rabbits and was extremely messy on a head shot fox at about 95yds. Just wondered how the hollow point rounds perform before I splash out on a couple of hundred or so. Any views most welcome cheers John. Axe
I very nearly bought a box or two to try out in my Quad but ended up buying V-Max, so it would be good to hear from people on these. Anyway, heres a bit of info I found out and about: Sweet 17 Trajectory Hope this helps.
caplock
Hmm... this little bullet seems to have more poke than I thought! I know the 17 grain vmax will blow on through a 6mm ally plate at 150 yards but there is only fragments and dust that exit onto a canvas sheet set 5 yrds behind this. Seems from the link that the more robust 20 grain construction will hold together a lot better. I think I'll get some for charlie, and memorise the scope clicks between the differant brands. Cheers for the links, John
