Pykie
Had a call sunday saying a work friend of my brothers had a fox raid his chickens the previous night and asked would we go out and try and shoot it. Arrived at seven, had a little look to get our bearings and started squeaking. My brother had the rifle leant on a silage bale, and I was lamping with the shotgun next to me. We switched the lamp off to do a bit of in the dark calling in case they were lamp shy and a loud rustling ahead made me flick the beam on to see a fox scrambling through the hedge a hundred yards away and make his way to the calling. He then broke in a run straight at us and I shot it dead twenty yards away with a charge of BB into the ribs. Out again tonight with a keepers friends Foxpro electronic caller and wondered whether I should try the vixen scream on it as its mating time now? The fox shot on the sunday was a big healthy vixen. Or stick to the rabbit squeal?
al4x
a bit on the late side for mating, but it may work. Best idea is to try it and see if it works, if not stop it for a while and try the squeal
