Will Beasley
How long do you charge a 12V 7Ah battery and how often, as i have a Pinewood Advantage but seem to have misplace the charging instructions. Take the capacity of the battery ( in milliamps which in your case is 7000 milliamps ) and divide it by the output rate of the charger you are using. The chargers we sell output at 800 milliamps so for example your 7000 milliamp capacity battery would take 8.75 hours to take it from completeley empty to completely full. The other general rule with lead-acids is to treat them well, which means periodically top them up, dont leave them totally flat for extended periods and if possible store them in a warm place. Will Beasley
hi will, could you leave them on charge permanently. tim It depends on the capacity of the battery. In the case of the tiny little 1.2amp batteried that we use on flappers and peckers I'd say no...you have to bear in mind that with a small battery there's not as much to "soak up" any overcharge and we've had a few people leave them on for like a day and the battery has gone from square to round, so pay careful attention when charging the small ones. With the bigger capacity batteries a little overcharging probably wont damage them but even still it doesn't mean you can leave the batteries on charge whilst you go away on holiday as you'll probably return home to a smouldering mess which was once your house! rjimmer
Anybody taking a solar panel with them to charge batteries in the field? Might be a bit shiny!
