stevel
I was thinking about a clumber but could find much out. What are they like in cover will they enter ok? and what about water?will the enter do they tend to like water? due to there size would they be ok for the odd 1 or 2 days wild fowling a year on top of the other game days Depends very much on the dog. I have two Clumbers, both from the same parents but from litters a year apart. The elder one, Jago is pretty fearless confronted with cover and I have had to cut him out when he has got entangled in briar runners and thick gorse and will be in any water, any time. The younger one will not enter water though he has in the past and can swim but just does not want to. He is also a bit more selective of the cover he will enter. I don't think I would want to have Jago in a gunning punt with me though because he is such a driven dog it would drive him scatty (and me) for him to have to stay still long enough. Here's a fun video of Jago but it does show his liking of water/mud. And some pics of working Clumbers Hope this helps Steve Edited June 19, 2011 by stevel
Siberian Tiger
I most definitely recognise the photographic handiwork. Last time we saw you was at Brean beach doing a photoshoot of Ms Clarkes new addition of a red and white Steve, which ones are of the lovely Jago and Benson? Outstanding pictures as ever!
